Biamonti 251 – Fragment in C major, found on page 63 of the Landsberg Sketchbook 7, corresponding to page 59 of Mikulicz. This 16-bar sketch is related to the Klavierstück Hess 73 (now WoO 216 number 1) and fills the entire page. Mikulicz, in his analysis, describes it as “Unbekannt”, meaning it cannot be linked to any other known Beethoven composition. Alongside the fragment in E flat major on page 66, lines 1–4 (Biamonti 253 or Hess 74), it was initially catalogued as Hess 73. In the more recent catalogue of Beethoven’s unnumbered works, these two fragments have been designated as “Bagatelle” and reclassified in 2014 as WoO 216. This fragment is penned and nearly complete, with only the bass part missing in the final three bars. Mikulicz also notes that in the manuscript, in bar 5 of the right hand, there is only the stem of the note G1. In bar 11 of the left hand, the notes are not tied; I interpret this as a mere oversight.
