Biamonti 256 – Minuet and Trio in D-flat Major, 1800
Page 180, line 7 of the Landsberg 7 Sketchbook, corresponding to page 166 in Mikulicz’s edition. Approximate date: 1800.
At the end of this page—and on the immediately preceding and following pages—there are extensive sketches for the Piano Sonata Opus 26.
This fragment is located in Landsberg 7, on page 180, line 7. In the manuscript, we find the inscription: “Trio in des trio ligato”. It consists of five measures, with an upbeat, in the key of D-flat major (“des”).
This fragment is made up of a short phrase of only two measures, marked “Ligato”, repeated a note higher twice (as if forming a progression). It is written very quickly and in a rather disorderly manner.
The preceding Minuet is also included.
