Biamonti 313 – Sketch Possibly Related to the Finale of the Piano Sonata Opus 31 No. 3, Spring 1802

It is found in the Wielhorsky Sketchbook, page 9, lines 2 and 3; see also Fishman Nathaniel, page 9. It consists of 15 measures (7 with a repeat sign – 8 forming a second, modulating section) in E-flat major (note the presence of A naturals in measures 2, 6, and 11, and an A-flat at the end of the sketch).

The handwriting is very small and hurried. On this page, prior to staves 4–5–6, there is a pencil annotation not written by Beethoven: “op. 31 n. 1 finale” Presumably, the sketches on the following staves are also referable to the same movement of the Piano Sonata Op. 31 No. 1.
