Biamonti 483 – Overture “Die Ähnlichkeit”, unused sketch, Spring 1809. Included in the group of sheets referenced under the preceding numbers, and reported as follows by Nottebohm (Zweite Beethoveniana, page 267). At the end, this annotation appears: “in der Mitte solo abwechslnd zwischen andern Stimmen wo immer eine und die andere dasselbe macht” (“In the middle, the solo alternating between other voices, where one and the other always perform the same part.”)

This fragment is located in the Landsberg 5 manuscript at the State Library of Berlin, page 63, staves 2–4. Unlike the previous sketch, it is written in very small handwriting. As a commentary to this overture fragment, we find a rather cryptic note that says roughly: “In the middle of the solo alternating with other voices, where one and the other do the same thing.”

Nottebohm writes in his Zweite Beethoveniana (pages 266–267): “After this (pp. 53–58) appear the sketches for an ‘Overture for any occasion – or for concert use’, which has already been discussed elsewhere [cf. article II.] [Landsberg 5, page 61, stave 5 and page 64, staves 5–9], and in between there are sketches for songs and allusions to another overture.”
