Biamonti 621 – Allemande and “Terzo pezzo”, 1815

These two fragments are preserved on page 43 of the Scheide Sketchbook, as referenced by Nottebohm in Volume II, page 347, although no musical examples are cited. The first fragment, titled “Allemande”, occupies lines ten and eleven. It is written in C major and is almost complete, presenting a dance-like theme over a very simple bass. The fragment, however, breaks off at the sixth measure.

Immediately below, on lines twelve and thirteen, appears the second fragment, titled “Terzo pezzo”. This piece is in D major and is extremely brief, consisting essentially of an ascending arpeggio of the tonic, D, followed by a descending arpeggio of its dominant, A. The left hand is indicated by the marking “8”.
