Biamonti 638 – Exercises for Piano, 1815

Page reference: page 93 (Nottebohm, II, page 346). They bear the indication: “Scalen für Lernende”(Scales for the student). A note at the end of the music refers to the inversion of the movement of the two hands. They are found in the Scheide Skizzenbuch on page 93, lines 1–4.

Beethoven defines them as: “Scalen für lernende”(scales for the student) then adds: “so auch hinauf, u. ungekehrt die rechte Hand eben so hinauf u. hinunter wie die linke”(thus also ascending, and conversely the right hand likewise ascending and descending as the left)
