Biamonti 644 – Sonata for Piano and Violin (Sketches), circa 1815

Biamonti 644 – Sonata for Piano and Violin (Sketches), circa 1815.

Mentioned by Kinsky in his article on Beethoven manuscripts from the Koch collection. They are found on a loose sheet, probably detached from some notebook, and contain:

  • A motif for piano that extends up to F4, and
  • “Varied sketches of a slow section of a sonata movement (in F major or F-sharp major) for violin and piano,” whose theme, in melody and tempo (12/8), resembles the violin solo in the Benedictus of the Missa Solemnis.

We have no further information, nor are we able to provide musical excerpts.
