Biamonti 801 – Sketches for the String Quartet Opus 127, 1824

These sketches are part of Beethoven’s compositional process for the String Quartet in E-flat major, Opus 127, one of his late quartets. They were written in 1824 and are preserved in the Koch Collection.

The material includes thematic ideas and structural experiments that Beethoven explored before finalizing the quartet. These pages continue the work seen in Biamonti 796, 797, and 798, and offer insight into the evolution of the quartet’s musical architecture.
