Bußlied; alternative version of Op. 48 no. 6. The final twelve bars are different. Unpublished. The autograph is preserved in the Bodmer Collection, MH 31. (Published by W. Hess in Supplemente zur GA, vol. V, 1962, p. 28). The Bodmer Collection is now held at the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, and the piece has been re-catalogued as SBH 536. The autograph labels Song no. 6 as no. 5, and no. 5 as no. 6; it therefore appears that the order of the two songs was reversed in publication. The alternative ending was written around 1803.
