WoO 221 (Hess 276) “Herr Graf, I come to ask how you are”. Canon for 3 voices, in C major, 24 bars. Fully realized, only the text has not been fully deciphered. Max Unger writes that the piece is intended for Nikolaus Zmeskall von Domanovecz and was composed around 1797. It is a very pleasant and graceful piece. The autograph is in the Bodmer collection, at the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, but it is not mentioned in the catalog because, according to a verbal communication from Unger, it is a later acquisition by Bodmer. [It was not assigned several “Mh” because it is a later acquisition of the Bodmer collection, but it is currently cataloged as SBH 632 and SV 167. Published by Hess in SBG, vol. V, 1962, p. 78.
