Beethoven – 15 Waltzes for Piano (Arrangement by Eric von Kuhlstrom)
Fifteen waltzes attributed to Beethoven. Some were already included in the appendix of the Kinsky–Halm catalogue, others drawn from different works.
These waltzes are free arrangements of other Beethovenian dances. For example, number 6 (in B-flat major) incorporates the Allegro from the piano reduction [H 90] of the ballet The Creatures of Prometheus [Op. 43 No. 15, Solo by Viganò]: measures 38–50, 58–65, and 73–80.
The collection of 15 waltzes from the Augener Gathering was reissued by Schott Musik in 1948: Ludwig van Beethoven | 15 Walzer | for Piano | arranged by Eric von Kuhlstrom | ED 438.
Finally, in Brussels in 1988, the 15 Waltzes were recorded by the Argentine virtuoso Aquiles Delle Vigne, and published in 1995 by Discover International [DICD 920.271].
