In Memoriam: 1827 – On the Death of Ludwig van Beethoven
This part of the article contains a series of title pages, prints and manuscripts relating to the obituaries and funeral orations that were recited, recited or only printed in the days and months following Beethoven’s death. For this research we thank – as always – Luigi and his amazing documentation. We do not report in-depth news about the subject, which you can find in our section “Beethoven’s Breviary – The End: Beethoven’s Last Days” by Carlo Alberto Pagni. The reading, in our language, of the book by Artemio Focher “26 – 29 March 1827” will also be fundamental. Article available from July 2015.
