Biamonti 48 – Bagattella. Work published by Willy Hess in the ninth book of the “Supplemente zur G.A”. (Revisionsbericht, page 142), 1965. Melodically completed sketch, in two parts, bars 8/8, with refrain. The original manuscript is found at the end of a sheet containing Hess exercises 58 and 59.

The manuscript is in the Kafka Skizzenbuch at the British Museum in London, folio 153r. Biamonti writes: “Anglaise in G major, November 1792-1793. […] Melodically completed sketch, in two parts, bars 8/8, with refrain. The original manuscript is located at the end of the page containing the exercise (for the wrist exercise) referred to in the previous number.” (Biamonti 47) In reality, this Anglaise is found in the middle of folio 153r of the Kafka Skizzenbuch and, to be precise, on lines 5-6 (in a sheet of 16 staves).  Hess writes on page 142 of the notes to Supl. IX to his Gesamtausgabe:
“Nach dem Entwurf von Var. 3 folgen vier Takte einer Arpeggienübung und hernach folgender hübsche Entwurf einer Anglaise für Klavier, der als ein bisher ungedrucktes Stück Musik Beethovens wenigstens hier vorgelegt werden mag”.
