Biamonti 757 – Sketch “2te St” (Seconde sonate). Allegro con brio, 1819–1822 Notebook II, page 75 (Nottebohm, II page 467). (Notebook II: Artaria 197)

The fragment Biamonti 757, defined as “2te Sonate” “Allegro con brio,” is located on page 75, lines 8–9.

Nottebohm (Zweite Beethoveniana, pages 466–467) cites it alongside others, including Biamonti 756, describing them as: “Inmitten dieser Entwürfe finden sich Entwürfe zu andern Sonatensätzen” [Among these drafts are found sketches for other sonata movements.]

This notebook is the second of three from the years 1819–1822, described by Nottebohm, who dedicates the entire chapter (pages 460–475) to them.

Beyond these unused sketches, the notebooks also contain drafts for the following works:

  • Missa Solemnis Opus 123
  • Piano Sonata Opus 109
  • Bagatelle Opus 119
  • Opus 107 No. 8
  • Piano Sonatas Opus 110 and 111
  • And some sketches that may be related to the Ninth Symphony
