WoO 218 (Biamonti 74) Minuet in C major for piano; published by Willy Hess in the ninth book of the ” Supplemente zur G.A “., 1965. Two parts, bars 8/8 and trio, bars 8/8, all with chorus. The original manuscript is in the Beethovenhaus in Bonn. There are also, on this page, sketches of the first version of the second Piano Concerto, Opus 19 (Hess 14).

Origin and publication: Composed in 1794/95, perhaps also in 1793, in Vienna. The first edition was published posthumously in 1965 as part of the SBG by Breitkopf & Härtel in Wiesbaden. Hans-Werner Küthen dates the Minuet to 1794/95 on the basis of the bars of an earlier version of the Piano Concerto op.19 on the same page (Küthen/NGA III/2 KB p. 31f, Coat of arms p. 33). However, even Douglas Johnson does not rule out 1793 (Johnson/Fischhof vol. 1 p. 368f).
